From the Headmaster's Desk - 23 May 2025

Dear parents, a very warm welcome to the next edition of the bi-weekly communication. As always, I am grateful for all the support and partnership of our parent community. The past two weeks have been full and have demanded much time and effort from a significant portion of the student body. From the classroom to the sports field, and everywhere in between, we are proud of the energy, commitment and spirit our students continue to show. Since my last communication I have had the opportunity of travelling to the UK to catch up with alumni in that part of the world.

Prep Circular - 12 May 2025

Dear parents, whilst coaching the U7 boys’ tag rugby this week — their very first rugby practice — I was reminded of the joy, enthusiasm, and innocence that comes with playing sport at that age. We want them to try hard, to play fair, to be competitive — that’s all part of good sportsmanship. However, we also want them to love sport in ten years still.

Dear parents, my hope is that you have settled into the ebb and flow of the new term. It has been so good to see our children diving into the demands of another exciting and challenging winter term. The second term is all about finding a rhythm. Finding this rhythm in a demanding academic term is essential, as it brings structure, focus, and balance to the school experience. Establishing consistent routines—such as setting study times, planning ahead for assessments, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance—helps reduce stress and improve productivity. A steady rhythm allows students to build momentum in their learning, stay on top of responsibilities, and engage more meaningfully with both academic and extracurricular activities. It also fosters a sense of control and confidence, enabling learners to meet challenges with resilience and purpose as the term progresses.

Dear parents, I hope you and your family are doing well and that you have had a relaxing time over the break. The April holiday offers a special opportunity for families to gather and reflect on the significance of Easter Weekend, especially for those who observe it within the Christian tradition. It is with great excitement that I welcome you back to the start of Term 2 at Woodridge College.
