At the beginning of every year, Woodridge College has a limited number of bursaries available to exceptional candidates across the academic, sports, and cultural faculties, who intend to enter Grade 8. This affords Woodridge College a way to attract talented pupils to the school, for many of whom, this life-changing opportunity might otherwise not be possible.
A bursary is a financial award granted to a pupil based on their academic, sporting, or all-round excellence. Successful candidates are awarded a discount on fees. Anyone considering Woodridge College for their son or daughter is welcome to apply for a means-tested bursary.
Applications for 2026 have closed.
Please take note of the following important minimum criteria for the bursary application.
This constitutes a partial bursary, covering a percentage of tuition and/or boarding fees. Candidates must achieve 85% or above in Mathematics and English with an 85% aggregate and must contribute to their current school’s extra-mural programme to be considered. Achieving these results at your current school doesn’t mean you will automatically be invited to write the bursary exam.
This constitutes a partial bursary, covering a percentage of tuition and/or boarding fees. Candidates must be a member of their school’s A-team sport for a summer and winter sporting code. Having competed at a provincial/regional level for any sport will be advantageous. The candidate needs to be excelling at sport, while maintaining a good academic record, to be considered.
While we appreciate the all-rounder, bursaries are awarded based on merit and therefore we are looking for exceptional performances and achievements in a summer and winter sport.
