Dear parents, as we draw the curtain on another successful year at Woodridge College, I write with a heart full of gratitude and deep appreciation for a community defined by care, dedication, and unity. The strength of our community lies at the very heart of our College's success, and 2025 has been a shining example of what can be achieved when we stand together with purpose. This has been a fantastic year, one marked by significant achievements, meaningful growth, and countless moments that remind us why Woodridge is such a special place. It has been wonderful to witness the development of the young adults entrusted to us.

Dear families, as the year draws to a close, it is time for us to reflect on the year and begin planning for next year. Key questions that guide our thinking centers around what the purpose is of everything we do, and are we truly providing the platform and foundation for children to grow into their best selves? With rapid advances in technology, we are asking critical questions about what children must learn and how they should learn it. In an ever-changing world, the ability to think, adapt and remain curious is essential.

Woodridge Prep announces appointment of new Head

Woodridge Preparatory School is delighted to announce that Mr Clifford Reed has been appointed as the new Headmaster of Woodridge Preparatory School, with effect from 1 January 2026. He brings over 14 years of rich, multifaceted experience at Woodridge, where he has taught various grades and subjects, led the rugby programme, served as a boarding house master, coached young athletes, and run the extensive Outdoor Education programme.

Prep Circular - 14 November 2025

Dear parents, as we reach that time of year again when children across South Africa sit for their examinations, I cannot help but reflect on what this really means for them. For many pupils and their parents, it is a stressful time filled with pressure, late nights, and nerves. I would like to share some personal thoughts on this topic. These are my own views, not necessarily those of the school. When we talk about examinations in primary school, we are talking about children who are still growing - emotionally, socially, and intellectually. They are still learning how to manage feelings, focus, and handle pressure. Yet, we ask them to sit formal examinations that reward short-term recall rather than genuine learning. I often wonder if this is really what learning should look like at such a young age.
