Welcome to the Woodridge Team: Penny York, Our New Business Manager

We're thrilled to announce that Penny York has joined Woodridge as our new Business Manager. She is an accomplished senior financial manager with more than 30 years of experience in finance and extensive involvement in all commercial areas of the school, including 12 years as Bursar at The Diocesan School for Girls (DSG) in Makhanda.

She brings unmatched expertise in financial leadership, operations, and strategic growth tailored to independent schools like ours.

Penny is a BCom Accounting graduate with distinctions and three years toward her CIMA professional qualification, making her a true financial powerhouse. She has excelled in budgeting, forecasting, compliance, audits, and cash flow management, consistently delivering spotless audits and smart cost optimisations that keep schools thriving year after year. We're excited to have her sharp financial insight guiding Woodridge forward.

Her hands-on operational expertise spans everything from facilities and HR to procurement, boarding operations, academic support and resource allocation, transport, marketing, security, and major capital projects. She has successfully led expansions and navigated challenges within the schooling environment, ensuring smooth operations, with student and staff welfare at the heart of it all.

Penny's vast experience will undoubtedly infuse fresh energy into our financial and daily operations, enabling us to continue nurturing authentic connections, fostering balance, and deepening the sense of belonging that makes Woodridge a true home for so many.
