Dear Parents

As we reflect on the past few weeks, it is difficult to ignore the significant challenges that have once again been brought about by the unprecedented weather conditions affecting our region. Having already experienced several disruptions this term, we unfortunately found ourselves in the position of having to close the school once more as a result of the severe rainfall and flooding that continue to impact many communities. While the safety of our pupils, staff, and families remains our foremost priority, we are acutely aware of the inconvenience and disruption these closures cause to family routines, academic programmes, and daily life. We are grateful for the understanding, patience, and support shown by our community as we navigate circumstances that remain largely beyond our control.

To those families who have been directly affected by the most recent flooding, please know that you are very much in our thoughts and prayers. We recognise that for some, the impact extends far beyond travel difficulties and includes damage to homes, property, and livelihoods. During these challenging times, the strength of our Woodridge community is often most evident, and we encourage families to continue supporting one another wherever possible. Through the disruptions, Woodridge has continued to be a busy place with so much going on in all areas of the school. From standardised tests to blood clinics, to financial trading, to music festivals, and a plethora of sports, the Woodridge ethos of a holistic education remains true to who we are. We continue to expect each of our pupils to be involved in all areas of school life as they develop into young people of significance, and for this, we are unapologetic.
