Dear Parents

In a world that moves quickly, measures loudly, and constantly demands our attention, one of the most important questions we can pause to ask, both as adults and as a school community, is a simple one: what matters most? Recently, in a parent address, I shared an image that has remained with me. Parents and teachers together form the archer; the child is the arrow. For the arrow to fly true and far, the archer must be aligned. Alignment between home and school gives the arrow the stability it needs to travel with confidence.

At times, there is tension in the bow, challenge, correction, discipline, even discomfort, but it is often this very tension that gives the arrow its strength, trajectory, and direction. Occasionally, the arrow needs straightening. Mistakes are part of growth, but accountability ensures that the arrow remains true. That image speaks powerfully to this week’s theme. If we are shaping young people for the future, we must be clear about what we are aiming for. What truly matters most?
