Dear Parents

Dear parents, the start of a new year always brings a buzz of excitement, and it was wonderful to hear the joyful sounds of children around the school once again. Even the much-needed rain on our first day could not dampen spirits, though it was a shame we could not go ahead with the afternoon extra-mural program. Nevertheless, the Grade 4-7 pupils wasted no time diving into the term with their one-night Orientation camps. These adventures down the valley, through Lily Pad Pond, and up to Donaldson’s Barn are more than just hikes—they are opportunities for team building, fun, and friendship. Watching them return, tired but smiling, reminds us why this traditional camp is so special.

For our younger pupils, the family camp this Friday promises to be just as memorable. This event is a highlight for many Foundation Phase families, offering a chance to connect under the stars with fellow parents and teachers. I would like to remind all parents about the Parent Information Evening, taking place on Monday, 27 January. This will begin in the Raymond Richie Hall with short presentations from Mr Mkhwanazi (Arts and Culture), Mr Sakube (Sport), Mrs Venter (Academics, and Mr Reed (Pastoral Care). Following these talks, you will move to the classrooms where your child’s class teacher will provide further information. Please note, this is not the time for individual meetings; if you need to discuss anything specific, do arrange a separate meeting with the teacher.
