Dear Parents

It has been an exceptional start to 2026, our 90th year of celebrating the Woodridge name. From our orientation camps at the beginning of the term, to the energy and determination of the River Race, to meaningful and engaging pupil-led conferences, this term has been rich in both experience
and connection. Our 90th celebrations have brought our community together in special ways, from the warm fellowship at the family spit braai to our music concerts, the 90th Tennis Festival, and a vibrant summer season of sport.

We have hosted cricket and water polo festivals, welcomed visiting schools onto our campus, and celebrated the success of our own pupils. Our recent camps have been a particular highlight, offering opportunities for growth, challenge, and shared experience. Throughout it all, there has been a
consistent thread of energy, pride, and togetherness.

On a personal note, in my first term of headship at Woodridge Preparatory, I have greatly valued the opportunity to connect with our parent body at various functions, sporting festivals, and events, and most recently at an informal class representative’s lunch. These engagements have been insightful, encouraging, and a powerful reminder of the strength of partnership within our community. These moments remind us of something important: a strong school is not built on events, but on relationships. And relationships are built on communication. Over recent weeks, we have spoken about trust,
resilience, and alignment between home and school. If we return briefly to the image of the archer and the arrow (previous circular issue), communication is what keeps the archer aligned and ensures the arrow flies true.
