Dear Parents
As we look back on the first half of this term, it has been wonderful to see our Grade 3–7 children embracing the spirit of adventure that is typical of activities at this time of the school year. The adventure races have once again been a true highlight, characterised by unforgettable moments filled with enthusiasm, resilience, and teamwork. For our younger grades, the races begin as exciting explorations — a chance to test balance, coordination, and courage in a fun, encouraging environment. With each year, the level of intensity and challenge gently increases, and it has been heartening to see the children rise to meet it. What begins as a simple introduction to outdoor skills gradually grows into something much deeper — experiences of personal growth.
Afternoon sessions spent honing cycling proficiency and building fitness have become a regular part of their day. The same goes for canoeing, where children develop not only strength and skill but also a quiet confidence in their own ability to persevere. For our older grades, orienteering and map reading add another layer of complexity, challenging them even further and teaching them how to navigate both terrain and teamwork under pressure.
