We're thrilled to announce that Clinton York has joined us as Operations Manager.
With over 12 years of hands-on leadership experience in private school environments, Clinton brings expertise in facilities oversight, event management, sustainability initiatives, and team development, perfectly suited to Woodridge's authentic ethos and extraordinary natural environment, where young people grow through balance and belonging.
Most recently, as Director of Outdoor Education at The Diocesan School for Girls (DSG) in Grahamstown, Clinton managed an 80-sleeper outdoor facility, overseeing operations, staff, finances, and compliance. He led comprehensive maintenance programs for buildings, grounds, and facilities, from day-to-day operations to major upgrades like solar installations and water-harvesting systems. Clinton also coordinated large-scale events, including grade camps, sports derbies, Japanese water sustainability conferences, and overseas tours, handling all logistics from catering and first-aid to equipment procurement and stakeholder communications.
His event management experience extends further into several areas. As Assistant Director of Sport at DSG (2013–2019), Club Captain at Cambridge Sports Club (2000–2005), and Club Captain of Londt Park Squash Club (2008–2011), Clinton organized major tournaments, secured corporate sponsorships, and drove fundraising efforts, while introducing new revenue streams, managing logistics, media coverage, and seamless delivery. His general management experience includes staff leadership, stock control, advertising, and project management to ensure operational resilience under pressure.
In his new role at Woodridge, Clinton oversees facilities and maintenance, ensuring our campus consistently reflects the highest standards of presentation and upkeep. He and his team maintain and continuously improve standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance, while leading and supporting our staff to deliver smooth day-to-day services in line with school standards. Clinton also ensures sound financial oversight and control of the operations budget, manages all on-site hospitality for Woodridge events, and provides logistical support for school functions.
