
Dear Parents
I trust this communication finds you well, and my hope is that you have managed to have somewhat of a breather while your children have been away at camp since Wednesday.
As we draw the curtain on what has been a frenetic yet highly successful summer sports season, I want to take a moment to thank you, the parents, not only for the support you have given the school, but most importantly the support you have given to your sons and daughters who I know really cherish having you on the side of the field, next to the pool, or even just on the phone offering encouragement. The summer season has been defined by some wonderful achievements and a ‘heap’ of time and energy invested by all involved. From the dedication of our athletes to the unwavering support of our coaches and staff, this season has been a testament to the passion and commitment that drives sport at Woodridge.
Our teams have competed with determination, showcasing not only their skill but also their sportsmanship and resilience. Whether on the cricket field, in the pool, on the tennis courts, or at various inter-school events, our students have represented Woodridge with pride. The intensity of the season has been matched by the growth we have seen in our young sportsmen and women—not just in their performances but in their teamwork, discipline, and character. When I interview new prospective parents, I always mention the wonderful children we have in our care. Over half term, I was watching a water polo game with the Kingswood Headmaster. I was so proud of the 1st team when they came to shake both our hands to say good morning – this spoke of the character of young people we have in our school. The very next day, I was watching our girls' cricket team play against a very strong Jeppe team. One of their players scored a mammoth 164 runs, and true to Woodridge form, our players went to congratulate her as she left the field – a wonderful example of great sportsmanship.
As we transition into the winter sports season, much of the rhythm of training, preparation, and competition continues, but now with rugby, hockey, netball, and squash. Our aim remains...
