Dear Parents

Welcome back to the third term at Woodridge College! I trust that you had a restful break and are ready for the exciting and busy term ahead. The third term is always a vibrant time at Woodridge College, packed with a diverse range of activities that reflect our emphasis on a holistic education. As always, we expect our students to get involved in a wide range of activities outside of the classroom to ensure that they are exposed, not only to different individuals within our community but to also make connections and gain new skills, as they develop into young people of significance.

For the Grade 12 cohort, we begin the term with the Preliminary Examinations – my hope is that our matrics have used their holiday time wisely, firstly to get some downtime, and then to prepare for the challenges that lie ahead. This term is a culmination of thirteen years of schooling. The result is that many students will feel the pressure of the importance of these examinations, and it is our joint responsibility to support them by ensuring they are getting enough sleep, eating healthily, and managing their time on social media, which is a significant distractor when the pressure is on. For the rest of the school, we begin the term with a strong focus on Outdoor Education. This integral part of our curriculum fosters resilience, leadership skills, and a deeper connection with the natural world.
