Dear Parents,

With less than two weeks to go before the end of the term, we can reflect on the busy time thus far. Many students are likely ready for the break ahead and are looking forward to getting some much-needed rest. In last week’s newsletter, Ms Minnie discussed ‘Empathy’ in her article – if you have not had a chance to read it, please do so, as it is an insightful and worthwhile read.

This week, I would like to reflect on ‘Mindfulness and Wellness’, as we move toward the end of the term. In today's frenetic and often demanding world, many of our students are navigating numerous challenges that may impact their overall well-being and happiness. The academic pressures, the social dynamics, and the continuous stream of information through technology can contribute to an environment where stress and anxiety are prevalent. In recognising this, we must encourage wellness and mindfulness. Wellness for our students encompasses not only their physical health but also their mental and emotional well-being. It is about encouraging balanced lifestyles that include healthy eating, regular physical activity, sufficient sleep, and positive social interactions. As educators and parents, we have a shared responsibility to model these healthy behaviours and create a supportive environment where our students can thrive.
