Dear Parents

As we began settling into the rhythm of a new term, the past week has certainly brought unexpected disruption to the life of the school. I would like to begin this communication by expressing my sincere gratitude to the entire Woodridge community for your patience, understanding, and support as we navigated the challenging weather conditions together. Our thoughts and prayers remain with all those who have been affected by the severe weather, and we trust that the road to recovery will not be too difficult.

Over the past few days, the true spirit of Woodridge has once again shone through, a spirit marked by resilience, compassion, and a strong sense of community. Weather aside, so much has already happened this term in such a short period of time. As we start focusing and looking toward next week, we have Knock on Wood upon us, starting on Monday. In the first assembly of the term and then again, this past Monday, I used the opportunity to focus on what is special in our School, Province and Country. In the first assembly, I spoke about trying to bring positivity to conversations they are part of, and then this past Monday, I spoke to some of the good things that South Africa has to offer. What prompted this was some of my own experiences from this past holiday. I was fortunate enough to travel to different parts of the country and got to experience what wonderful people we have in South Africa. We have fantastic scenery and sights – South Africa is truly a beautiful country!
