WOODRIDGE EQUESTRIAN CENTRE (WEC) BOOKING FORM

The WEC caters to beginners, novice, and experienced riders in the equestrian disciplines, along with excellent equestrian facilities which include flatwork, lunge and jumping arenas, and secure out-rides. The WEC boosts a large Eventing course consisting of 6 different levels (55cm-1.05m tracks).

Should you wish your child to partake in any of the equestrian activities offered by the WEC, please complete this Form.  

In order to secure lessons and/or livery, this booking form should be received by Woodridge BEFORE the start of a term. 

TUITION (on a school - or privately owned horse or pony)
GROUP TUITION: (4 to 6 riders per group)
Gr 000 - Gr 00:  1 x lesson per week (mornings)    R2,020 per term
Gr R:                  2 x lessons per week (mornings)  R 3,410 per term
Gr 1 - Gr 12:      1 x lesson per week (afternoons)  R 3,410 per term;  2 x lessons per week (afternoons)  R 5,990 per term

PRIVATE TUITION:  Private lessons are limited and scheduled at the instructors' discretion
1 x lesson per week: R 4,450 per term
2 x lessons per week: R 7,790 per term 

RIDING GEAR: According to SAEA (South African Equestrian Association), for safety reasons, scholars must ride in the correct headgear (a riding helmet with a chinstrap joining at 3 points or a skull cap).  Riding shoes with a small heel are also compulsory.  Riding helmets are available to be borrowed from WEC, but it is advisable to obtain your own modern helmet with improved shock absorption. Children may not groom, turnout, or lead horses without the correct helmet and shoes on.  

THE ROSTER TIMES: Due to school buses and termly sport changes, both in the College and the Prep, the WEC Lessons Roster will change from term to term.  Days and times will be scheduled by the instructors to accommodate each child’s needs where possible.

LIVERY:
STABLING LIVERY:  The horses are fed a balanced diet and go out every day into large, electronic-fenced paddocks with grazing, water and shade.  Horses are groomed and cared for by experienced grooms.  1L Fly spray is included monthly. The stables are large with shavings for bedding.  Horses are shod every 5-6 weeks, if necessary. Farrier and veterinary bills are not included in the livery fee and will be billed to your Woodridge account. Any additional supplements are to be purchased by the owner of the horse.  Poultices, creams, veterinary ointments etc. are to be purchased by the owner of the horse and clearly labelled.  Horses are expected to have their own grooming bag with clearly marked contents.

Stabled Pony: R 5,150 per month | Live-out Pony: R 3,650 per month
Stabled Horse: R 5,950 per month | Live-out Horse: R 4,550 per month

Please note: One month’s livery is payable before the end of the previous term to secure a stable. We reserve the right to increase the livery charges should actual costs exceed anticipated costs.

LUNGING: The cost of lunging a livery horse is R 110 for a 20-minute session. Requests must be made in writing to the Equestrian Centre manager.

SCHOOLING: 1 x 45-minute session per week: R 300
                        2 x 45-minute sessions per week: R 540

TACK ROOM: Private tack may be stored in the WEC tack room at the owner’s risk.  Tack is to be insured by the owners.  The tack room is locked at night and on weekends.

Please be reminded that a term's notice is required should you wish to terminate your child's horse riding lessons.  Notice is given using the online form to withdraw from horse riding lessons.

Should you require livery, a separate Livery and Tuition Conditions Agreement will be emailed to you after you submit your form.
