
Dear Parents
The past week has been yet another busy and rewarding week for the College. The School has found its rhythm following the half-term break and it is wonderful to see the students happy and energised, walking around the corridors. Last week Friday, we celebrated our founders with the annual Founders’ Day Service. Our Guest Speaker, Mr Grant Horsfield, delivered such a powerful message to the students through sharing his journey as an entrepreneur. Mr Horsfield is the founder and chairman of the Naked Group, a group of resorts around China, and the Naked Hub, which became one of the biggest co-working space operators in China, Vietnam, Australia, and the UK. Mr Horsfield has also published a book titled: “The Poverty Penalty – The Price of Being Poor”. He is also an avid sailor and is currently sailing around the world with his family, expanding his experiences.
Mr Horsfield spoke about his own experiences, both successes and failures, at school and in business. He spoke to failure as being a significant learning experience, and that grit and determination are key to getting up, taking the knock on the chin, and moving forward again.
