Grade 8 Bursary Application

Welcome! We are delighted that you have made your way here.

Please take note of the following important criteria for the bursary application.

Academic:

This constitutes a partial bursary, covering a percentage of tuition and/or boarding fees. Candidates must achieve 75% or above in Mathematics and English and must contribute to the current school’s extra-mural programme to be considered.

Sport:

This constitutes a partial bursary, covering a percentage of tuition and/or boarding fees. Candidates must have competed at provincial/regional level for at least ONE school sport and be a member of their school’s A-team or otherwise excel in a second school sport, while maintaining a good academic record, to be considered.

Your application will not be considered if it is incomplete. Please follow the instructions carefully.

Take note of the following important information:

  1. The Virtual Open Evening will be held on Wednesday, 24 February 2021.
  2. The closing date for bursary applications will be Friday, 26 February 2021.
  3. Candidates who are shortlisted will be contacted by Monday, 8 March 2021.
  4. Shortlisted candidates will be required to write the bursary assessment exam at Woodridge on Thursday, 11 March 2021* at 15:00 in the College Hall.
  5. Final notification for successful candidates will take place by Wednesday, 31 March 2021.
  6. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  7. No correspondence will be entered into during the process of awarding bursaries.

*There are NO alternative dates for the exam to be written.

The application process consists of two parts, namely:

PART 1:

  1. Read the bursary application criteria
  2. Download and print the motivation form (button below) - you will need this to be ready for PART 2
  3. The pupil must complete the motivation
  4. Scan and save as a PDF document using the child's name and surname - i.e. John-Doe-Motivation.pdf
  5. Scan and save a clear copy of the December 2020 report as a PDF document using the child's name and surname - i.e. John-Doe Report
  6. Look out for further correspondence from us to confirm the dates and deadlines and status of your application

PART 2:

  1. Click on APPLY HERE
  2. Complete the online application form and attach all the required documents - there are 3 steps within the process, click NEXT to move along
  3. Please note: If you are an existing pupil at Woodridge or have previously submitted an online initial enquiry/application for your child you will get a “duplicate pupil” message when you submit – if this is the case please add an X to the end of the child’s name and surname
  4. Select SUBMIT once your application is complete - ignore the SAVE button
  5. Please note:If you completed your application successfully, you will receive a pop-up on the screen thanking you and two emails will follow. One email will confirm your submission and another will provide login details, which will be used to complete a full application should your child be successful
