Mentor system

When a pupil is in Grade seven, he/she is placed into a mentor group under the care of a teacher who acts as an advisor or mentor. These are fairly small groups ranging from eight to ten pupils. In line with the College’s tutor system, a mentor is responsible for a number of areas, namely:

Academics
- to constantly motivate pupils so that they achieve to the best of their ability in all subjects.
- to ensure that each pupil sets realistic goals in each subject every term.
- to monitor achievement in relation to goals set.

Extra-Mural Activities
- to ensure that each pupil is committed as fully as possible to the extra-mural programme as set out by the school.

Spirit of Woodridge
- to encourage and guide the pupils in their monitor responsibilities and the example they need to set as seniors in the Prep school.

Pastoral Care
- to counsel pupils when needed.
