Adventure Clubs
Woodridge SLC is the only school-based surf lifesaving club in the world. The Club was founded in 1973 and has performed incident free duty patrols for the past 38 years. During that time, Woodridge SLC has qualified hundreds of youngsters with skills for life, including team work and leadership. The Club has an open membership policy, and able persons of all persuasions are welcome to join. The Club currently patrols Main Beach, St Francis Bay.
Woodridge SLC also has a proud history of surf competition at both provincial and national level. The Club has attained many competitive accolades over the years and has a number of Springboks to its credit. Surf competition forms an integral part in maintaining levels of fitness and water prowess.
Woodridge Canoe Club
The objective of this Club is to expose pupils to canoeing and kayaking at a higher level. Students will train in both K1 and K2 boats, with the ultimate objective of gaining Canoe South Africa grading which will allow entry into the main paddling events around the country. Woodridge Canoeing is very proud of its association with Old Woodridgian Martin Dreyer, 8 times Dusi Champion.
Woodridge Climbing Club
The focus of this activity is to provide able and interested climbers to attain a higher level of climbing skills and abilities so that they may pursue this sport on a much higher level.
Woodridge Adventure Club
This Club will include disciplines such as mountain biking, downhill racing, trail running, orienteering and adventure racing. The Woodridge estate provides an excellent training ground for such activities.
