Music
The vision of the Woodridge College music staff is to provide world class music tuition that is in line with global practices in music education. We aim to involve our pupils as much as possible in the South African music scene on school level. Music is taught in a nurturing and inspiring environment for both pupils and teachers, whilst a high level of skills and knowledge is imparted on pupils. Excellence is the “catch phrase” in class.
EXAMINATIONS
Musicians can take music as a formal subject from Grade 10 to Grade 12, or as an extramural activity. Internally musicians are examined once yearly and many pupils also participate in the practical external music examinations as prescribed in the syllabi of Trinity Guildhall, Trinity Rock school, Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music exams or those offered by UNISA. Pupils are also encouraged to write the external music theory exams.
