Trevor von Berg qualified at the Johannesburg College of Education with a Teaching Diploma and furthered his studies at the University of Johannesburg, completing his B.Ed Honors (Educational, Leadership and Management).
His first teaching post was at King Edward VII School in Johannesburg and thereafter Maritzburg College. After 10 years teaching in Secondary School, Mr von Berg decided to move to Primary School level and joined St Stithians in Johannesburg, where he was appointed Director of Sport.
In 2006, Mr von Berg moved to the Eastern Cape to join the Woodridge family, where he took up the post as Deputy Headmaster at the Preparatory School. His wife, Heather, is secretary to the Deputy Headmaster of the College and their two daughters both matriculated at Woodridge and now attend UCT and Rhodes.
Mr von Berg is very passionate about education and is motivated when it comes to keeping pace with the 21st Century trends and methods in education.
Sport is another keen aspect of his life and he is interested in all sports, especially rugby and cricket. Mr von Berg is a keen golfer and he keeps himself fit by running and cycling. He has completed the Comrades, Dusi and Iron Man.
Mr von Berg is a strong believer in the ethos of Woodridge and he feels that Woodridge provides the many opportunities required to develop confidence in children.
