College > Headmaster

Craig Neave spent his youth growing up in Kwazulu Natal.  After school, he pursued a career in commerce, where he studied Management through the Natal Technikon.  After 7 years in that career, Craig and his wife, Sheila, decided to change course and left Durban to study at Rhodes University, Grahamstown.  He completed his BA (HMS) (HDE) and took up a History teaching position at Woodridge College in 1991.  During this time, Craig has taught History, English and Business Studies.  He has been Housemaster of Carter House, coached waterpolo, cricket and rugby as well as holding the positions of Senior Master and Deputy Headmaster.  In 2005 he was appointed Headmaster.

Craig is not only an enthusiastic sports coach and spectator, he is also a talented sportsman himself.  He has provincial colours for soccer, cricket and softball and was the Rhodes University Sportsman of the Year on two occasions.  He has also completed the Comrades and Two Oceans Marathons five times.

Sheila is a pre-primary teacher and she and Craig have three children, twins Alex and Lauren and Darren, who are pupils at Woodridge College.

In keeping with the school’s philosophy, Craig hopes to develop all aspects of the students’ growth, with special emphasis on Academics.
